2       Management of follow up outpatients across Wales: Evidence Session with the Welsh Government

2.1 Members received evidence from Dr Andrew Goodall, Director General of Health and Social Services and Chief Executive of NHS Wales and Dr Chris Jones, Deputy Chief Medical Officer as part of the inquiry into the Management of follow up outpatients across Wales.

2.2 Dr Andrew Goodall agreed to:

·         Provide a list of the improvements that each health board is being asked to make

·         Share the feedback from the Ophthalmology Implementation Board on the outcomes of the new eye care measures

·         Share examples of the pieces of work that clinicians are leading on as part of the improvements driven by the national planned care programme and its associated speciality boards.

5.1 Following the First Minister’s decision not to proceed with M4 relief road motorway project, as announced on 4 June 2019, and the publication of details of the project costs which now amount to £114m, Members agreed that the Public Accounts Committee has a role in examining this expenditure and agreed to undertake a short piece of work on this matter.
